chapter I

SURVIVING THE JUNGLE

On the southern border of Mexico, authorities actively pursue migrants. This limits their access to healthcare services and exposes them even more to the influence of cartels, who have built a business around migration. Joe, a Venezuelan trans man has just arrived in Tapachula after a long journey from Chile. While waiting for his visa, he is forced to live on the streets with his girlfriend, carrying the scarring memories of his journey through the Darien, the deadly jungle between Colombia and Panama.

chapter II

AGAINST THE ODDS

Mexico City is a place of profound migratory contrasts. Thousands of high-income "digital nomads" enjoy the advantages that the capital offers. And thousands of migrants fleeing their countries suffer the hostility of a city that lacks sufficient resources to support them.

Two Guatemalan sisters escape domestic violence and extreme poverty, seeking a better life in the city. Arriving in the vibrant metropolis, they embrace the hope of a brighter future, defying the odds through resilience and unity.

chapter III

The border with the US has become a breeding ground for a humanitarian crisis fueled by political decisions. Within this turmoil, thousands of migrants find themselves trapped in perilous cities, grappling with severe water and food shortages while braving extreme weather conditions.

A young displaced Mexican couple recounts how they chose to leave everything behind rather than surrender their business to the cartel. In the midst of their escape to protect their lives, they make a discovery that will change their lives.
